In March 2016, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) awarded Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and Sumitomo Corporation Consortium (MHSC), a contract (Contract 3) to design and build an Electric and Mechanical (E&M) system, as a full turn-key package.
Contract 3 is for the design, supply and construction of the E&M works for the Bangkok Red Line, Bang Sue to Rangsit and Bang Sue to Taling Chan sections.
MHSC appointed E-Consult as Software Assurance Manager to provide Software Assurance Services for Contract 3.
Stage 1 – Design and Procurement, the Software Assurance services began in June 2017 based in MHSC’s Bangkok office entailing the following activities:
Producing the suite of Software Quality Assurance Planning documents and associated processes and procedures.
- MHSC Software Quality Assurance Plan (SQAP)
- MHSC Software Development Assurance Plan (SDAP)
- MHSC Software Configuration Management Plan (SCMP)
- MHSC Commonality Guidelines for Software
- MHSC Software Quality Assurance Audit Plan (SQAAP)
- MHSC Software Configuration Definition Document (SWCD)
- MHSC Software and Data Transfer procedure
- MHSC Software ESROW plan
Conducting workshops for training MHSC subsystem teams and Suppliers / Software developers in software quality assurance processes and procedures.
Formal review and comment of Subsystem software related document submittals.
Formal review and providing responses to SRT Project Management team’s comments and holding comment resolution meetings.
Conducting Software Quality Assurance (SQA) audits of Subsystem suppliers and software developers.
Producing SQA Audit reports.
Producing input for MHSC Design Safety Case
Stage 2 – Testing and Commissioning
The following Software Assurance activities are ongoing (as of June 2020):
Further development of the Software Release process and Software Release Note format.
Formal review and comment of Subsystem software test specifications, procedure and reports.
Formal review and comment of Software Release Notes.
Formal review and providing responses to SRT Project Management team’s comments and holding comment resolution meetings.
Performing on-site Software Configuration audits and producing audit reports.
Producing input for the MHSC Final Safety Case.
